About Us

Well, let's see here….
Photography is my passion. I love capturing that “real” smile, that moment in time. Unfortunately, photography does not pay the bills which I accumulate while I’m a full time student at LCC. Therefore, I do have a full-time job during the week after school, and tend to my photography sessions mainly on the weekends.
I am studying to be an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) at LCC. Because of my passion to help people, I have decided to become a Fire Fighter/EMT. Because of my busy schedule, cooperation with scheduling your shoot is greatly appreciated. As I've said before, I lean toward weekend appointments because that's when most people are free anyways.
I studied photography in high school, combined that with my passion, and built my business up from there. I have done photography steadily for 3 years. Starting with the usual landscapes and flowers, to Lansing Eastern’s Marching Band as a volunteer and hired on the following year. I am always willing to try something new and different. After all, some of the greatest minds were a little different, I try to use this idea in my photography to get that “great” shot. That off-the-wall, really YOU shot. I like to shoot “journalism” style and just capture you and what’s going on around you. Like the mood in the room and the overall atmosphere. But don’t get me wrong I am going to pose you and tell you where to put what.J
I aim to be very laid back. I won't put you in that uncomfortable position just to get that perfect head tilt, or angle for lighting. I move around YOUR comfort zone. Getting your picture taken should be fun so I encourage people to bring music (if you don’t I will, I love working with music playing) and friends. Everyone is always nervous of how they look or what to do. Trust me, I will tell you what to do and if I don’t, just ask. No question is ever a stupid question. After all, how many times do you go to a photographer and have your picture taken? Not very often, so I don’t expect you to know what to do. Having a consultation prior to your shoot can help us to get to know you, and help you learn what to expect. Remember, I always give my 100%, so make sure you bring your 100% too.
Tia, on the other hand, attends MSU in the morings and works at a vet clinic in the afternoon. She is attending MSU for the Vet Tech Program and will become a Licensed Vet Tech in the next few years. Her experience with professionally handling animals however, goes back to when she was just 12 and started volunteering at the very Clinic that she works at now! Which helps you, if you have a pet you want portraits of. She is great with all sorts of animals. Tia helps will most if not all of my photography sessions even if an animal is not ivolved. If you would like to have her meet your pet a few times prior to the photo shoot, simply ask! She frequently house sits animals and is very comfortable meeting new animals all the time. The more an animal is in contact with a person the more comfortable it is with that person. Remember, it takes an animal 10 times before it can truely remember a person.Compared to my laid back demeanor, Tia is very energetic and likes to have fun. If you're worried about someone not smiling, just wait til she gets there! Not only does she work well with animals, but young children are her favorite, and she tends to be theirs. Something to keep in mind when thinking about your comfort zone, especially for the women, you can special request that she is present for the shoot. If you need help changing, or fixing your hair, Tia is more than willing to help!
We finally set a date!! June 20th, 2009!!
